June Frels

Funeral services for June Frels, 93, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00 am Friday at the First Presbyterian Church, East Moline. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation will be 4-7 pm Thursday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd. Mrs. Frels died peacefully Tuesday, March 19, 2019, at her home, surrounded by her family.

June Bordner was born June 25, 1925, in Moline, IL, the daughter of Ralph and Marie Engstrom Bordner. She married John “Ted” Frels II October 18, 1946, in East Moline. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved spending time with them. She enjoyed doing needlepoint, birdwatching, her beloved dog Penny, and going out to eat with family and friends.

Survivors include her husband of 72 years, Ted; children, Jean (Robert) Norton, East Moline, and David (Cathy) Frels, Omaha, NE; grandchildren, Aimee (Bruce) Abington, Matthew Norton, Angela (Shawn) Schadle, Jill (Scott) Dynes, and John (Amy) Frels III; 8 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Jewel Bordner, IN, and Carol Bordner, East Moline; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Duane and Ralph Bordner; and niece, Dr. Holly Bordner-Michel.

Memorial may be made to First Presbyterian Church.
