Mildred L. Vaughn, 85, Colona, passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at Avonlea Cottage, Milan. Funeral services are 10 AM Tuesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Visitation is from 5-7 PM Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to Avonlea Cottage, Milan. Mildred Hulsey was born on May 25, 1930 in Walker County, Alabama, the daughter of Grady and Zela (Pollard) Hulsey. She married Bert Vaughn on July 4, 1947 in Marion County, AL. He died in 2006. She had been a member of Silvis Heights Baptist Church, Silvis. Mildred enjoyed gardening and sewing. Her family was very important to her, and she dearly loved her grandchildren. Survivors include her children, Phil (Judy) Vaughn, East Moline, Tim (Dee Ann) Vaughn, Bettendorf, IA, Mark (Sue) Vaughn, Cable, IL, grandchildren; Corey Shepherd, Renee Vaughn, Abby Thompson, Jason Vaughn, Heather Stille, Abbey Donohoe, Ivy Tucker and Garrett Vaughn, and fifteen great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, grandsons Jeremy and Bobby and a great grandson Jonah.
