Alan R. "Homer" Honn, 72, of Moline, IL, passed away Friday, May 17, 2024, at UnityPoint-Trinity, Rock Island, IL.

A memorial visitation will be held 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 29th, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Private family burial will be at Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Alan was born September 30, 1951, in Rock Island, IL, a son of William J. and Rosemary Shea Honn.

In earlier years, he worked at the former Jiffy Gas Station. He later worked and retired from the John Deere Parts & Distribution Center, Milan.

Homer was an avid White Sox fan. He enjoyed driving his pick of Mustangs over the years. He shared his humor and spread smiles through his daily jokes via e-mail. Homer will be fondly remembered as a generous man that loved with his whole heart.

Those left to cherish his memory are his granddaughter, Abigail Hockaday, Moline; siblings, Kevin (Coni) Honn, Derby, KS, Debbi Honn and Kelly Honn, both of the Quad Cities, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Rosemary; son, Donnie Hockaday; and siblings, James Honn and Geri Means.
