Alan Wright of Silvis, IL, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Illini Restorative Care, Silvis. He was 78 years old.

Al was born in Moline, Illinois on May 25, 1946, to George and Jessie (Slusher) Wright. He married Sheryl Norris of Coal Valley, IL, on August 19, 1967, in Coal Valley. They welcomed four children, Stacey Lynn, Dawn Michele, Michael Alan, and Joel Patrick.

Al was a hard worker and enjoyed figuring out how to fix anything. He loved working on projects in his garage. He was employed for over 35 years at Sears Service Center as a Service Tech. After retirement, Al and Sheryl bought a little lake house on Leisure Lake near Maquoketa, IA and spent many happy days enjoying new friends, fishing, and lots of campfires. All the grandkids grew up spending many happy times there. Al was a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Al is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sheryl; sons, Michael (Rachael Moone) and Joel; grandchildren, Zach McLean, Tori Ryan, Katelyn Jacobsen, Noah Edgcomb, Hunter Wright, Walker and Natalie Wright; along with 9 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Pam and Barry Deditch; and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Stacey Lynn Wright; his infant daughter, Dawn Michele Wright; his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Karen Wright; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Dee Norris.

In accordance with Alan's wishes, cremation will be accorded, and a Memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 17th, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, with visitation one hour prior to services Friday. Private interment will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your favorite charity.
