Funeral services for Albert L. Maddelein, 80, Moline, are 9AM Monday, April 2, 2007 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline. Burial is in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation is 2-5 PM Sunday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 2PM. Mr. Maddelein died Friday, March 30, 2007 at his home. A memorial fund has been established. Albert was born, July 22, 1926 in Moline, the son of Alfons and Irma (DeRoo) Maddelein. He married Janet Hauman on February 6, 1954 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Colona. He worked as a carman/welder, assistant wrecker engineer/fireman for the former Rock Island Lines. After retirement he worked at Hyman-Michaels for 3 years. Al enjoyed fishing, camping, playing rolle bolle and his trains. He had also been an assistant Scoutmaster and received the order of the Arrow. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Janet, children and spouses Rovanna and Mike Hahn, East Moline and Joseph and Sherry Maddelein, Moline, and grandchildren Kristin Hahn, Matthew Hahn, Dalton Maddelein and Breanna Maddelein, and sisters-in-law Linda Pisman and Karen Aguilar. He is preceded in death by his parents, twin sister Dorothy Haeck and his brother Frank Maddelein.
