Funeral services for Albert D. "Sonny" Viscioni, 75, of Coal Valley, IL, will be 9:00 AM Tuesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00PM Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Viscioni died Sunday, December 20, 2009 at his home. Memorials may be made to the family. Sonny was born October 9, 1934 in East Moline, IL, the son of Eduardo and Madeline (Dumelien) Viscioni. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War and the Vietnam Conflict. He married Julia Bowen March 22, 1970 in Rock Island, IL. She died June 14, 2007. He retired from the US Air Force in 1973 after 20 years of service and late retired from the Rock Island Arsenal after 19 years of service. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2153. He had been an active member of the Quad City Antique Ford Car Club. He enjoyed NASCAR, especially Jeff Gordon. His passion was restoring antique cars and had won several car show trophies. Survivors include his daughter, Anna Viscioni-Ross of Coal Valley, sons and daughter-in-law, Kevin Viscioni of Coal Valley, Todd and Tammy Viscioni of Rapids City, IL; grandchildren, Kayla, Ashley, and Vincent Viscioni, Noah and Brennan Ross; sisters and brothers-in-law, Dolly Denys of Silvis, IL, Betty Rideout of East Moline, Fran and Bill Doxsee of Silvis, Joyce and James Bower of Lincoln, NE, Rosie and John Wessell of Middleburg, FL. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister, Mary Ann Horn and brother, Louis Viscioni.
