Alberta M. (Lorenz) Berthoud, 87, East Moline, passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2013 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline. Funeral services are 11 AM Tuesday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Visitation is from 9:30 until 10:30 AM Tuesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Msgr. William J. Cleary Endowment Fund. Alberta was born May 11, 1926, in Iowa City, IA, the daughter of Albert and Barbara (Suchanek) Lestina. She married Lowell Lorenz in 1950. Lowell died in 1973. She married William Berthoud, Sr. in 1986. He died in 1987. Mrs. Berthoud retired from JL Brady in 1993. She enjoyed gardening, and reading. She was a member of St. Anne Parish, the Women of the Moose since 1987, the National Catholic Society of Foresters since 1949, and the East Moline Legion Auxiliary since 1987. Survivors include daughters Diane (Mike) Reedy, Longwood, FL, and Gayle Morrell, East Moline, sons Richard(Anna) Lorenz, Rock Island, IL, and James Lorenz, Mesa, AZ, step children, Mary Smith, Richard Berthoud and William Berthoud Jr., 10 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and siblings, Vivian (Earl) Iverson, Waterville, IA, Bernadine (Emmet) Jones, Lansing, IA Marjorie (Ron) Miller, Cedar Rapids, IA, and Barbara (Dennis) Nebendahl, Waterville, IA.
