Funeral services for Alberto "Beto" Nevarez, 85, Moline, are 10 AM Monday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Burial is in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation is 2-5PM Sunday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Mr. Nevarez died Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at Genesis Medical Center-Illini Campus, Silvis. A memorial fund has been established. Albert was born May 26, 1922 in Durango, Mexico. He married Manuela "Nellie" Bonilla on February 27, 1951. She died July 26, 2002. He retired in 1975 as a grinder from Sivyer Steel, Bettendorf, IA. Al enjoyed playing cards, shooting pool and fishing. Survivors include his children and their spouses; Rosalie and Larry Lawver, Moline, Albert and Debbie Nevarez Jr., Moline and Javier and Karen Nevarez, Hillsdale, IL, six grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and one on the way, brothers; Lazaro Nevarez, Phoenix, AZ, Alejandro Nevarez, California, Jose Nevarez, Phoenix, and sisters Regina Nevarez, Mexico and Socorro Nevarez, Puerto Rico.
