Alexander R. Lamacki, Jr. , 76, of East Moline, IL, passed away Friday, February 21, 2025, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, Iowa.

A private funeral service will be held at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, East Moline. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Moline. In accordance with his wishes, there will be no visitation. Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers or gifts, memorials may be made to Assumption Greek Orthodox Church or to a favorite charity.

Alex was born November 21, 1948, in Chicago, Illinois, to Alexander "Ozzy" Lamacki, Sr. and Frances (Heichert) Lamacki. He graduated from Lindblom Technical High School, Chicago, and studied Political Science and History at Chicago State University. He honorably served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves.

He married Diane K. Minas on September 16, 1989, in East Moline.

Following college, he worked for World Book, Health-Mor Co., and H.B. Taylor Co in finance and sales. He moved to East Moline in 1998 and was a salesman for Lujack Lexus in Davenport until his retirement in 2018.

Alex was a member of Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, East Moline. He was an avid Chicago Cubs, Bears and Blackhawks fan. Alex enjoyed history, political discussions/debates and was a Civil War buff.

Surviving are his wife, Diane (Minas), of East Moline; son, Jimmy Lamacki, Port Byron, IL; brother, Don Lamacki, Sr., and his wife Barbara, Lockport, IL; nieces and nephews, Don Lamacki, Jr., Jennifer Britt (late Kevin), Allison (Jason) Lamacki, and David (Roberta) Lamacki, and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Frances; and nephew-in-law, Kevin Britt.
