Alfredo M. Tovar, 75, East Moline, passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at his home. Funeral services are 11 AM Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Moline. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation is 4-7 PM Wednesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 3PM. Memorials may be made to the family.

Alfredo was born on October 3, 1946 in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico, the son of Juan and Romana (Martinez) Tovar. He married Yolanda Arevalo on June 13, 1962 in Nuevo Laredo. He retired from the former Frank Foundries. Mr. Tovar was an avid Chicago Cubs and Dallas Cowboys fan. He enjoyed shooting pool and occasional trips to the local casinos. His greatest joy was his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 60 years, Yolanda, children; Juana (Raul) Rodriguez, Moline, Raul (Ana) Tovar, East Moline, Alfredo Tovar, Moline, Romana (Luis) Gaytan, Moline, Jose Tovar, Moline and Gilberto Tovar, East Moline, thirty-one grandchildren, forty great-grandchildren and siblings, Ana Maria Tovar, Jose Luis Tovar, both of Mexico and Graciela Medina, Moline.

He was preceded in death by his parents a grandson Romelo Santiago Tovar and siblings; Florinda Escobar, Maria Elena Gonzalez, Santiago Tovar and Juan Antonio Tovar.
