Alice Y. Varble, 85, of East Moline, passed away Friday February 2, 2024 at her home in East Moline, surrounded by family.

Visitation will be 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Thursday, February 8, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Graveside services and burial will be 12:00 pm (noon) Saturday, February 10, at Hardin Cemetery, Hardin, IL. Memorials may be made to the family to be designated later.

Alice was born February 18, 1938 in Hardin, Illinois, a daughter of Roy and Alberta M. Spang Branham. She married Charles E. Varble on August 4, 1956. He preceded her in death on September 29, 1993.

She loved caring for her family and will be fondly remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She will be greatly missed by all.

Alice enjoyed genealogy and was an active member of the Hardin Historical Society.

Surviving are her children, Kevin (Ginger, deceased) Varble, East Moline, Vickey (Michael) Fluegel, Moline, and Randy (Kari) Varble, East Moline; grandchildren, Jodi Barton, Juli Varble, Jacob Varble, and Jandi Varble; sisters, Charlene Adams, Clorene McVey, and Florene Branham; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family; and brother-in-law, Robert Varble.
