Alice M. Garcia, 95, East Moline, passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at Illini Restorative Care, Silvis. Funeral services are 10 AM Monday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Burial is at Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation is 2-5 PM Sunday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 1:30 PM. The family asks that guests wear masks at all times. Memorials may be made to St. Anne Catholic Church.
Alice Cline was born on October 18, 1926 in Riverside, IA, the daughter of Walter E. and Mabel (Shull) Cline. She married the love of her life, James Garcia in 1948. He died in 1979. Alice had worked as a punch press operator for the former Buddy L. Toy Company. She was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline, East Moline American Legion Auxiliary and the VFW 8890 Auxiliary.
Those left to cherish her memory are daughters, Stephany (Carlos) Olvera, Moline and Mary (Harry) Knox, San Antonio, TX, daughter-in-law, Berta Garcia, Rock Island, eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, sons, James Garcia Jr., and Paul Garcia, grandson Danny Staton II, and siblings; Carol Shelangoski, Russel Cline, Richard Cline, Raymond Cline, Kenneth Cline, Dale Cline, Jerry Cline and Walter Cline and her best friend Eileen Leaf.
