The family of Allen "Chief" Moneymaker, 44 of Carbon Cliff, IL, suffered a great loss, Monday, May 08, 2006 when Allen died at home. Visitation will be 4-7 Tuesday (today) at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. A "Celebration of Life" will be held from 11AM until 1 PM Wednesday at John's Downtown Tap, East Moline, IL. Private committal services will be held at Western Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family. Allen was born April 4, 1962 in Los Angeles, CA, the son of Louis "Bud" and Carole (Carlson) Moneymaker. He married Sally Roberson, September 15, 1980 in Casper, WY. For many years he had worked as a welder. Most recently he had worked installing siding and gutters. Allen had a lot of drive, if it had a motor, he was on it! His accident stole his mobility but not his ability to enjoy his family. Allen made the statement "The body is just a body but who you are, is on the inside, that's what matters". He had a winning smile that a person would forgive him anything, as he was a great tease. Survivors include: daughters (companion) Kimberly Moneymaker (Mike Mull) of Moline, IL. Jennifer and Brian Horton of East Moline, IL, Jessica Moneymaker (Paul Sturts) of Moline, IL, Leilania Moneymaker of Silvis, IL; grandchildren, Alexa, Dalton, Dakota, Paul Jr., and Jordan; sisters and brothers-in-law, Tery and Ronald McDonald, of Alabama, Robin and Dennis Woodhurst of Carbon Cliff, IL, Traci and John Theriac of Rock Island, IL; brother, Drew Briggs, Redmond, WA; many aunts uncles and cousins; special friends, Pat Martinez and Derek Haney. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and baby brother, Kelly Moneymaker. The family would like to thank Trinity Pathway Hospice and Dr. Anne Cramer for their wonderful care.
