Visitation for Allen A. Parkinson, 82, East Moline is 2-5 PM Sunday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Graveside committal services are 9AM Monday at Rock Island National Cemetery, where the East Moline American Legion Post 227 will conduct military honors. Mr. Parkinson died Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at Genesis Medical Center-Illini Campus, Silvis. Memorials may be made to the family. Allen was born April 13, 1925 in Rockford, IL, the son of Francis and Marguerite (Lampman) Parkinson. He joined the Navy right out of High School. He worked as a maintenance engineer at FW Means, where he retired. He had also worked at Oakwood Country Club. Survivors include his companion of the last 34 years Gloria Cunningham, her children and spouses Cheryl and Jerry Boyer, East Moline, Rebecca File, Rock Island, Carrie and Matt Ferguson, East Moline and Ronald Cunningham, Lake Charles, LA, ten grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
