Funeral services for Allie "Boots" Van Wassenhove, 81, of Moline, IL, will be 10:00AM Monday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Burial will be in the National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. Visitation will be 2:00-5:00PM Sunday at the funeral home. Mrs. Van Wassenhove died Thursday, December 27, 2012 at East Moline Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, East Moline, IL. Memorials may be made to the family. Allie McLean was born August 17, 1931 in Oklahoma City, OK, the daughter of John and Mary Murray McLean. She married Lewis Phelps. He died. She later married Syriel VanWassenhove September 11, 1976 in Rock Island, IL. He died January 6, 1992. She retired from the Moline Kmart after more than 20 years of service. She then worked at Walgreen's for nearly ten years. Survivors include her daughters, Diana Page, East Moline, Jody Holling, Moline, and Debra Welch, Silvis, IL; 5 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Margerite McGivern, Silvis, Micky (Hart) Guthrie, Moline, and Paula (Jim) Clark, Moline; brother, Bud Mclean, Moline. She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands, son, Gary Phelps, sisters, Wanda Highfill, Betty Elsey, and Hazel Morris.
