Amalia A. "Mali" Rodgers, 43, Silvis, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2014 at OSF St. Francis, Peoria. Funeral services are 11 AM Tuesday at Homewood Evangelical Free Church, Moline. Burial is in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation is 3-7PM Monday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. A memorial fund has been established. Mali was born on March 24, 1971 in Moline, the daughter of Jose and Patricia (Garza) Portillo. She married Tom Rodgers on June 11, 1993. He died on January 16, 2004. Mali had been a secretary at Herff Jones, Moline. She enjoyed scrap booking, photography, watching musicals, cooking and crafty days. Her family and friends were the center of her life. Survivors include her children Tom Rodgers, Hampton, Joe P. Rodgers, Silvis, Chris Fernandez, Silvis and Carlotta Fernandez, Silvis, her parents, Joe and Pat Portillo, Hampton, her sister Brenda Vandersnick, Rapid City, SD, nieces, Alexia and Ariana, nephew, Mark John, and her fiance, Jeff Dorn.
