Ana Maria Esparza, 81, East Moline, died Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at Genesis Medical Center-Illini Campus, Silvis, surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services are 10 AM Friday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Entombment is in St. Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline. Visitation is 4-8PM Thursday August 25, 2011 at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 3:30 PM. Memorials may be made to ARC of the Quad Cities. Ana Maria Alonso was born September 23, 1929 in Aguascalientes, Mexico, the daughter of Benito and Maria Alonso. She married Efren Esparza on February 18, 1950 in Mexico. Ana was a loving wife and mother. She enjoyed crocheting and had made baptismal blankets for all of her grandchildren. Ana loved playing cards, singing and cooking. She was a devoted, faithful woman. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Efren, children and spouses; Ana (Ronald) Nuckles, Inman, SC, Laura Buck, Rock Island, Efren (Arland) Esparza Jr., East Moline, Alfredo (Debbie) Esparza, Moline, Jorge (Hope) Esparza, East Moline, Ruben (Marcia) Esparza, Normal, IL, Dora (Sarge) Krol, East Moline, Carlos (Brenda) Esparza, Princeton, IA, Yolanda Wynes, Hampton, Paul Esparza, East Moline and Peter (Cindy) Esparza, East Moline, twenty nine grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Mrs. Esparza was preceded in death by her parents and 17 brothers and sisters.
