Funeral services for Andrew J. DuPrey, 74, East Moline, are 10 AM Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery, where the East Moline American Legion Post 227 will conduct military honors. Visitation is 5-8 PM Wednesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a liturgy service will be read at 6 PM. Andy died Saturday, February 25, 2006 at Genesis Medical Center-Illini Campus, Silvis. Memorials may be made to Paralyzed Veterans Association, St. Jude's Children's Hospital or St. Mary's Church. He was born June 1, 1931 in Moline, the son of Kamiel and Irma (Buysse) DuPre. He married Delores Smet, January 21, 1956 at St. Mary's Church. Andy served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired as a switchman for the former Rock Island Lines in 1973. Mr. DuPrey was a life member of the Leo Council 716 of the Knights of Columbus, and the VFW 1933, and was a current member of the Black Hawk Gem and Mineral Club. Survivors include his wife of 50 years Delores, children and spouses Andrew and Lory DuPrey Jr., East Moline, Daniel and Mary DuPrey, East Moline, JoAnne and Anthony Lieving, Colona, Mary and John Tubbs, Bettendorf and John DuPrey, East Moline, seven grandchildren, a sister Bernice Johnson, East Moline and several nieces and nephews.
