Funeral services for Andrew W. Piliponis, 64, of Moline, IL, will be 10:00AM Wednesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Piliponis died Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at his home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Andy was born April 30, 1949, in Moline, IL, the son of Vito and Betty Byrd Piliponis. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict.He retired from the former J.I. Case Plant, East Moline, in 2004, after 32 years of service. Andy loved spending time at the family farm in Ottawa, IL, with family and friends. He enjoyed fishing, camping, golfing, and collecting hats. He had been a member of the East End Boulders Club and the Friends Circle Club, Moline, where he loved spending time with his friends. Survivors include his mother, Betty Byrd-Jacobs, Rock Island, IL; sister, Wendy (Ron) Schanfish, Moline; brothers, Darald (Rebecca) Piliponis, Palatine, IL, and Jeffrey Piliponis Sr., Moline, IL; nieces, nephews and many friends.
