Angel Santiago Nunez, 8, of Silvis, passed away Tuesday July 11, 2017 in Silvis. Funeral services are 10:00AM Saturday July 15, 2017 at Christ United Methodist Church in East Moline. Visitation will be Friday July 14, 2017 from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at Van Hoe Funeral Home, Ltd. in East Moline where a rosary will be recited at 3:30PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family of Angel Santiago Nunez. Interment is at St. Mary's Cemetery in East Moline. Angel was born February 24, 2009 in Moline, a son of Cesar and Maria (Ortiz) Nunez. He was currently enrolled at Ridgewood Elementary School in East Moline, and would have started 3rd Grade in the fall. He was a Yellow-Belt in Kempo; enjoyed playing Pokemon Go and Minecraft. He enjoyed attending the Adventures in Literacy Tutoring Program at Christ United Methodist Church. He was especially close to his brother and sister. Angel is survived by: his parents, Cesar and Maria, his sister: Nayeli Nunez and brother: Cesar Nunez Jr. both at home; his maternal grandparents: Jose and Maria I. Ortiz of Aurora, IL; paternal grandparents: Oswaldo and Rosa Sanchez of Moline; paternal great-grandmother: Alicia Gandera of Texas; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins in the Ortiz and Nunez families.
