Funeral services for Angelo L. Gargano, 87, of Colona, IL, will be 10:00AM Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Colona. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline, IL, where the Colona American Legion will conduct Military Honors. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00PM Friday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL, where a rosary will be recited at 4:30PM. Mr. Gargano died Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the Hope Creek Care Center Activity Fund. Angelo was born October 19, 1926 in Silvis, IL, the son of Joseph and Mary LaCorte Gargano. He married Lila J. Bledsoe August 3, 1944, in Rock Island. She died September 6, 2009. He served in the US Army during WWII, from 1944-1946. During his earlier years Angelo was a car salesman. He later owned and operated the Colona Maid-Rite for 25 years. He then worked at the Waterworks Car Wash, East Moline, for 15 years. Survivors include his daughters, Pat (Lee) Johnson, Colona, and Sue (Don) Abel, Colona; son, Richard (Joyce) Gargano, Franklin, TN; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; 2 sisters; and 3 brothers.
