Anna R. Montecino, 90, Moline, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Illini Restorative Care, Silvis. Funeral services are 10 AM Wednesday at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline. Burial is in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation is 4-7 PM Tuesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 3:15 PM and the VFW 8890 Auxiliary will perform their Memorial Service at the conclusion of visitation. Memorials may be made to the family. Anna Castel was born on July 26, 1925, the daughter of Jesus and Sara (Valdez) Castel, and grew up in the Cooks Point part of Davenport, IA She married Ramon S. Montecino on June 10, 1961 in Davenport. After their marriage, they moved to East Moline, where she resided for nearly 50 years. In early years, she had worked at Servus Rubber, Rock Island. Anna was a life member of the VFW 8890 Auxiliary, and the Red Hat Ladies. She dearly loved her family and enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren's company and attending their activities. Anna was an excellent baker and loved to dance. Anna was a devout Catholic, who would begin and end every day praying the rosary. Survivors include her daughter, Regina (Seferino) Terronez, Moline; grandchildren, Seferino (Erin) Terronez Jr., Ashley Terronez, Marissa Terronez, and Christian Terronez; great grandchildren, Sophia, Aidan and Ahna; sister, Sarah (Pete) Campos, Moline; brother, Raymond (Gay) Castel, Eldridge, IA; many nieces and nephews; and her grand puppy, Chukha. She was preceded in death by her husband Ramon who died on August 25, 1973, her parents, siblings; Alphonso Castel, Jesus Castel Jr., Teresa Alonzo, Cora Ahrens and Petra Palos, her "Montecino sisters" and her special friend Carlos.
