Anna Laurena Schonrock Steffen, 90, formerly of Cordova and Hampton, IL, passed away Thursday, October 25, 2007 at Rosewood Health Care Center, Moline, IL. Funeral services will be 10:00AM Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Hampton. Burial will be in Cordova Cemetery, Cordova. Visitation will be 4:00-6PM Friday (today) at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL, where a liturgy service will be held at 3:30PM. Memorials may be made to Beacon of Hope Hospice, Davenport, IA or Disabled American Veterans. Anna Laurena Kadel was born October 22, 1917 in Buffalo Prairie Township, IL, the daughter of George and Hannah (Kuntja) Kadel. She married Edward Hall and later married William L. Schonrock in May of 1942. He died in March of 1960. Anna married George Steffen in July of 1969. He died January 6, 1996. She retired in 1976 from the former Moline Public Hospital Dietary Kitchen. She enjoyed walking her dog "Pepe" around Hampton until his death. Anna was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Hampton. Survivors include; daughter, Judy Polek, Hampton; sons and daughters-in-law, Raymond and Penny Hall of North Glen, CO, Kenneth and Mary Hall of Clinton, IA; 6 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, sisters, Minnie, Mabel, Mary, Molly, and Louise, brothers, Henry and Raymond, and a dear son-in-law, William Polek.
