He married Sharon Canavit on September 21, 1963, and later married Norma Adams in 2002. Anthony graduated from Alleman High School class of 1959 and immediately began his career with Laborers' Local Union #309, for over three decades until his retirement on January 1, 1996. After his retirement he served on the Retired Board for Laborers Local #309 and served as an Election Judge, while also taking up a full-time position at East Moline Glass.
Anthony enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and going to all their activities, and traveling in his RV out West and the Southwest with Norma. In his earlier years he was an avid fast pitch softball player, playing in leagues and championships nationwide. You could always see him in the local newspaper as one of the best local players. He loved all his pets, especially his late beloved dachshund, Daisy. As a young man, Anthony frequented the roller rink with his friends. At 81, he got the opportunity to go roller skating with his family and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Anthony is survived by his son, Tony (Laura) LaMantia, Colona; grandchildren, Nathan and Alyssa LaMantia; great grandchildren, Cayson, Jayda, Huxson LaMantia and one more due in August; several step great grandchildren; sister, Ruth (Chuck) Southerland; special friend and life partner, Norma Adams; all his beloved friends; and dog, Tyler.
