Funeral services for Argero "Alice" Barboutis, 93, formerly of East Moline, are 10:30 AM Wednesday at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, East Moline. Burial is in Riverside Cemetery, Moline. Visitation is 4-8 PM Tuesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a Trisagion (Prayer) Service will be held at 7PM. Mrs. Barboutis died Saturday, March 18, 2006 at the home of her son Peter in Bettendorf. Memorials may be made to Assumption Church. Argero was born July 13, 1912 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Peter and Frances (Droulis) Mitchell. She married Dr. Anargyros Barboutis in 1948 in Chicago. He died in June 11, 1977. Alice enjoyed knitting, cooking and being with friends and family. She was an active member of her church until her health began failing and was no longer able. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law Peter and Pauline Barboutis, Bettendorf, daughter Katherine Kartsomanis, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, grandchildren Stevan Barboutis, Nick Kartsomanis, Stan Kartsomanis, Jim (Josie) Kartsomanis and Patricia (Joe) Sordo, step grandchildren Ryan, Tyson, Lindsey and Ashley VenHorst, and her sister Jeanne Scelzo, Barrington, IL She is preceded in death by her husband, a son Nicholas who died in 1966 and brothers Nick, George, Chris and Mike.
