Obituary

Arley W. Hoover, 94, of Wauwatosa, WI, formerly of Colona, IL, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2022 in Wauwatosa on his beloved Marjorie's birthday.

Private graveside services will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, IL. Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Arley was born November 12, 1927 in Dade County, Missouri, a son of Troy and Ada Gilmore Hoover. He married Marjorie Faye Gilmore on October 27, 1950 in Harrison, AR. She preceded him in death on March 5, 2009.

Arley was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was employed at John Deere Harvestor Works for 28 years, retiring in 1985.

Surviving are his daughters, Carol Jan (Richard) Burkeybile, Colona, IL and Shirley (Joseph) Robarge, Greenfield WI grandchildren, Jared Burkeybile, Rachel (Joe) Reszczynski, Paul Robarge and Jacob Robarge and great grandchildren Riley, Liam and Graham Arley Reszczynski. Arley was a gardener and well know for keeping all the church ladies supplied with yellow tomatoes. He loved his cars (as long as they weren't Fords or foreign) and always kept them spotless and running in tip top shape. He could usually figure out a way to fix just about anything and was happiest when he had a good challenge. He loved his country music and I don't mean any of this new stuff. You could count on hearing music anytime you stopped by his place.
