Armando V. Cardoso, 92, East Moline, released his earthly bonds to join with his beloved son Alex, his mother, sister, brother and Pepita and Conchita to continue his grand adventure on November 12, 2008. A memorial celebration will be at 5PM Saturday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. The family will greet friends and family from 3PM until service time. A memorial fund has been established. Armando was born in Mexico City on July 12, 1915 to Conrado and Refugio Cardoso. He was a watchmaker, inventor, photographer, chronicler, poet, artist, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Those wishing him a gentle voyage, are his wife Socorro Cardoso, East Moline, daughters and sons-in-law Maria and Andre Koeffer, France, and Anna and Kim Croxton, Atlanta, GA, sons and daughter-in-law Victor and Pat Cardoso, Rock Island and Tony Cardoso of East Moline, grandchildren; Frederic, Sylvia, Carmen, Sandra, Emilie, Elisa, Jerry, Adam, Brandon, Kristen, Julie, Greg, Jason and Alex, and nineteen great-grandchildren. In addition to family having gone before him, a daughter-in-law Carmen Cardoso precedes him in death. The family wishes to express their unending gratitude to the entire staff of Oak Glenn Home for their heart felt affection, compassionate care and kind attention in all ways to Armando and his family
