Arthur L. Fox, 83, of Moline, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2017, at Hope Creek Care Center in East Moline. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 28, at Van Hoe Funeral Home in East Moline. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, where memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice for cancer research or to the American Heart Association. Interment will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline. Arthur was born Oct. 6, 1933, in Andalusia, a son of James and Lillian Witt Fox. He graduated from Sherrard High School, class of 1951. He married Dorothy VanDeKeere, Nov. 1, 1952. She passed away in 1993. He married Susan Nowell on July 28, 1994, in Davenport. He retired from Alcoa as a laborer after over 35 years of service. He was a avid fisherman, enjoyed bowling having bowled a perfect 300 score game, and also enjoyed gardening. Arthur was a die-hard Cardinals fan. He was a former member of the Loyal Order of Moose in Rock Island Chapter No. 168, and a member of the United Steelworkers Union Local No. 105 in Bettendorf. Survivors include his wife, Susan; six children, Keith Fox, Gary and Kim Fox, Tim and Nancy Nowell, Kevin Nowell and Sara Hernandez, James R. Nowell, and Barbara and Ellery Queen; eight granchildren, Jessica Fox, Kayla and Bob Shaw, Jessica Nowell, Katie and Tim Burkard, Emily Nowell, Sarah Nowell, Sam Nowell, Drake Nowell; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Robert Fox; a granddaughter, Melinda Wright, four brothers, and a sister.
