Audrey James Lovett, 94, of East Moline, IL, died on April 2, 2010 at Illini Restorative Care Center in Silvis Illinois. Her body will be cremated and a Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday April 10, 2010 at 3PM at Christ United Methodist Church, East Moline. Visitation is from 1-3 PM at the church. Audrey Lovett was born on the James family farm just east of Erie, Illinois on 28 July 1915. She was a daughter of Arthur and Ruby Dennison James. She married Robert E. Lovett of Davenport, Iowa on the James farm on 6 May 1939. He died on 4 January 1994. Audrey Lovett graduated from Erie High School and Browns Business College. She met Bob Lovett at Deere & Company while she was working as a secretary in the Export Department. Although she enjoyed family and being a homemaker most, she also worked for a few years as the bookkeeper for Country Companies Insurance in Moline. Audrey Lovett was an active member of the United Methodist Church, first in Erie, next in Moline and for many years in Christ United Methodist Church in East Moline. She served her churches in many capacities. Most recently, she was a Membership Secretary. She was also a member of United Methodist Women and Kings Daughters. She is survived by sons Brian (Diana) Lovett, Moline, Illinois; Tom Lovett (Anne Lundin), Madison, Wisconsin; daughter-in-law, Reverend Jane Lovett-Porr (Brian), Tyler, Texas. Grandchildren are James (Kristi) Lovett, Houston, Texas; and Jeff (Tammy) Lovett, Katy, Texas; Tara Porr, Tyler, Texas; Karl Lundin, Austin, Texas; and Emily Lundin, Berlin, Germany. Her great-grandchildren are Jennifer Postel, Houston, Texas; Ashley Lovett, Matthew Lovett, and Sydney Lovett, Katy, Texas. Audrey is also survived by her sister, Vivian Fluck, Wooster, Ohio. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her eldest son, James E. Lovett and her brother, Richard A. James. Our family would like to thank the staff at Illini Restorative Care Center and Genesis Hospice for the warm, wonderful, compassionate care provided to our mother. We also wish to thank our loving church family and especially the "Saturday Morning Breakfast Ladies" who have looked after mom for many years. The family requests no flowers. Donations may be made to the Christ United Methodist Church Memorials Committee in memory of Audrey J. Lovett.
