Funeral services for Barbara J. Dunbar, 87, of Coal Valley, IL, will be 1:00 pm Friday at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island, IL. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline, IL. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 pm Thursday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 3:30. Mrs. Dunbar died Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at Rosewood Care Center, Moline, IL. Barbara Douglass was born October 26, 1930, in Putnam County, MO, the daughter of Melvin and Anna Arnold Douglass. She married Reginald Dunbar, May 4, 1968 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Colona, IL. She had been a regional manager of Spiegel Catalog for 20 years and retired from John Deere Davenport Works in 1990, after 12 years of service. She was a member of AARP, Royal Neighbors of America, U.A.W. 281, and St. Pius X Catholic Church. She and her husband enjoyed traveling. She was a wonderful cook and baker, who hosted many wonderful parties. Survivors include her husband Reginald Dunbar; son, Dwain (Susan) Wyant, RI; grandchildren, Andrea (Charles) Hanson, Moline, and Melanie Rice, Rock Island; great grandchildren, Alex, Noah, Olivia, Cassidy, and Sophia; former neighbors and special friends, Dave (Christine) DeKezel, Cambridge, IL.
