Funeral services for Barbara J. "Barb" Fox, 76, of Silvis, IL, will be 10 am Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation will be 3-7 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs Fox passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at her home.

Barbara Gelande was born February 2, 1946, in Moline, IL, the daughter of Cyriel and Nicolena "Lena" (Rossi) Gelande. She was a graduate of United Township High School Class of 1964. She married William "Bill" Fox September 7, 1968, in East Moline. They owned and operated the American Cafe, Silvis, for 7 years. She worked at John Deere Spreader Works before she became a stay at home mom to raise her sons. Politics was a large part of her life and she was very proud of her tenure in Silvis. She served as the City Clerk in Silvis for 20 years and as 2nd Ward Alderman in Silvis. She loved baseball and had umpired when her sons were playing baseball. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Bill Fox, Silvis; sons, Joshua (Teresa) Fox, Silvis, and Zachary (Nicole) Fox, Montgomery, IL; granddaughters, Madison, Reese, and Morgan Fox; and her sister, Joanne (Randy) McDanel, Myrtle Beach, SC

She was preceded in death by her parents.
