Barbara J. Jones, 89, formerly of Moline, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2019 at the home of her daughter in Defiance, MO. Memorial services will be 10:00 am Friday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Entombment will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation is from 9 AM until service time.

Barbara was born October 6, 1929 in Centralia, IL, daughter of Vincent and Grace McMenamy. She married Carl W. Jones on January 23, 1949 in Centralia. He passed away August 24, 2010. Over the years, they enjoyed living in Edwardsville, IL, Florissant, MO, Plant City, FL, and Moline, IL.

Left to cherish her memory are her children David (Diann) Jones, St. Louis, MO; Deborah (Marc) VanderBeke, East Moline, IL; Philip (Cathy) Jones, Boyce, VA; Carol (Robert) Hartman, Defiance, MO; and Russell (Lynn) Jones, Verona, WI. She is also survived by a brother, Vincent (Shirley) McMenamy, Henderson, NV.

She enjoyed reading, shopping and, most of all, spending time with her family including 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, son, Stephen, her parents, two brothers, and two sisters.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
