Barbara J. Wheeler, 67, Hampton, passed away Monday, September 20, 2010 at her home surrounded by her family. Visitation is 4-7PM Thursday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Private family services will be held at a later date in Hampton Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Barbara Johnson was born November 20, 1942 in Moline, the daughter of Ralph and Opal Ferman Johnson. She married Kenneth Wheeler in 1967. Barb had worked in the kitchen at Parkview Terrace in East Moline. She enjoyed the river, playing slots, but mostly her family. Survivors include her husband Kenny, daughters and sons-in-law Candy and Bob Garrison, East Moline, Penny and Donnie Littig, Hampton, grandchildren; Christina, Wayne, Brittani, Zach, Cody, Jen and Steph, seven great grandchildren, sisters; Carol Williams, Hampton and Phyllis Trommer, East Moline, and a brother Dale Johnson, East Moline, and a daughter-in-law Gail Atkins. Barb is preceded in death by her parents, her son Kenny and 3 brothers.
