Funeral services for Bartholomew Fitzgerald, 98, Rock Island, are 10 AM Friday at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline. Burial is in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation is 4-7PM Thursday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a family rosary will be recited at 3:30 PM. Memorials may be made to Christ the King Church. Mr. Fitzgerald died Monday, July 17, 2006 at Trinity Medical Center-West Campus, Rock Island. Bart was born June 4, 1908 in Denhoff, ND, the son of James and Mary (Ritchie) Fitzgerald. He married Bernice L. Patzner, October 2, 1939 in Wilton, ND. He and his wife owned and operated the Amigo Motel and Gas station in Harvey, ND, until their retirement. Mr. Fitzgerald was a Charter Member of the Knights of Columbus in Harvey ND. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Bernice, daughters Carol A Forsyth, Ashland, KY, and Janice I Anderson, Moline, son and daughter-in-law Douglas J and Geraldine Fitzgerald, Fairfield Glade, TN, grandchildren; Victor D and James D Fitzgerald, Pamela A Porter and Matthew A Forsyth, great grandchildren James T., Zorada, Ariel and Chloe, sisters Clara Pool, Bismarck, ND, and Irene Diel, Tacoma, WA and brother James Fitzgerald, Spokane, WA. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Laura Sherman and Frances Kruger and brothers Harvey and Lawrence.
