Funeral services for Beatrice S. Cruz, 88, of Silvis, IL, will be 10:00 am Saturday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline, IL. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline. Visitation will be 4-7 pm Friday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm. Mrs. Cruz died Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at her home surrounded by her family. Beatrice Valle was born December 30, 1930, in East Moline, the daughter of Luz and Delfina Hernandez Valle. She married Lupe Cruz September 23, 1950 in Silvis. He died September 1, 2014. She retired from Eagle Signal in 1972. She was a devout catholic. She was a longtime member of the Altar and Rosary Society, taught 2nd grade CCD, and was in charge of the Christmas Program for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include her children, James (Pat) Cruz, Graham, WA, Cathleen Fenton, Swansea, IL, Thomas (Linda) Cruz, East Moline, Cynthia Swanson, Silvis, and Cheryl (Darrell) Priebe, Silvis; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and one on the way; numerous nieces and nephews; special family friend, Kayla Harrison, East Moline; and her dog, Clifford. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Theodore Cruz; son-in-law, Kevin Swanson; 7 sisters; and 6 brothers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Anne Catholic Church.
