Benita Alanis, 80, East Moline, died Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Forest Hill, East Moline. Funeral services are 10 AM Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline. Burial is in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation is 4-7PM Wednesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 6PM. A memorial fund has been established. Benita Martinez was born November 20, 1931 in Bettendorf, IA, the daughter of Antonio and Petra Gomez Martinez. She married Alfonso Alanis Sr. on November 13, 1963. He preceded her in death in 2000. survivors include her daughter Linda Salgado, East Moline and son Alfonso Alanis Jr., East Moline, four grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and siblings, Javier Martinez, Mexico, Beatrice Sandoval, East Moline, Tony Martinez, Bettendorf, Martha Martinez, SanAntonio, TX, Hope Lendiwier, Bettendorf, and Angel Martinez, SanAntonio. She is preceded in death by her husband and her daughter, Lucero Salgado.
