Funeral services for Bernard Heaton, 95, of Moline, IL, will be noon Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Moline. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. Visitation will be 11:00 AM until service time at the church. Mr. Heaton died Monday, January 22, 2007 at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where he had been a member. Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL is handling arrangements. Mr. Heaton was born July 23, 1911 in Macomb, IL, the son of Ross and Roxie (Stroops) Heaton. He married Fern W. Woods in 1946. She died May 9, 1998. He served in the US Army during WWII. He retired from John Deere Harvester, East Moline in 1973, after 25 years of service. Bernard loved politics, gardening, and his job at John Deere. He was always the life of the party with his great wit and humor. His greatest joy was his family. He will be deeply missed. Survivors include: daughters, Linda Weber of Iowa City, IA, Lana Geyssens of Moline, Shelia Bagley of Moline, Patricia Heaton of Moline; sons and daughters-in-law, Ross and Sherry Heaton of Silvis, IL, Bernie and Janice Heaton of Moline, David and Joan Heaton of Moline, Roger Heaton of Rock Island, Kennedy and Jodi Heaton of Davenport, IA, Joseph Heaton of Joliet, IL; son-in-law, Wayne Stratton of Davenport; sisters, Arial, Maxine, Doris, and Betty; brothers, Irvin, Vernon, Bill, Ross Jr., Ben, and Virgil.
