Funeral services for Bernice M. "Bea" LaPorte, 84 of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00AM Friday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. LaPorte died Monday, May 11, 2009 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the family. Bea Dierikx was born December 16, 1924 in Rock Island, IL, the daughter of August and Frances(Dailey)Dierikx. She was a graduate of Rock Island High School. She married Norman H. LaPorte August 11, 1945 in Moline, IL. He died April 12, 2007. She had worked for the former East Moline State Hospital and retired from the Galesburg Hospital after 30 years of total service. She enjoyed crocheting and giving foot reflexology treatments to friends and family. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Thomas Reichwein of Port Byron, IL, Judy and Richard Allison of East Moline, Peggy and Paul Kraan of East Moline; 12 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, granddaughter, Shelley Kraan, sister, Gladys (Kester) Ward, brothers, LeRoy Dierikx and August Dierikx Jr. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.vanhoe.com
