Bertha M. Brokaw, 86, formerly of Colona, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at Good Samaritan Society, Geneseo. Funeral services are 10 AM Monday at Cornerstone Christian Fellowship, 5106 28th Avenue, Moline. Burial is in Dayton Corners Cemetery, Colona. Visitation is 2-4 Sunday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Memorials may be made to Cornerstone Church. Bertha Hemm was born on January 18, 1928 in Tiskilwa, IL, the daughter of Mervin and Lula Clark. She married Harvey Brokaw on August 6, 1949. He died in 2001. Bertha had worked in the cafeteria for the Colona Grade School District for over 20 years. Bertha was a very devoted and faithful member of Cornerstone Christian Fellowship. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her daughters, Charlotte (David) Ditch, Moline, Linda (Steven) Raske, Colona and Cynthia (Richard) Henson, Colona, grandchildren: Donny (Becki) Smith, Amy Smith, Megan (Ron) Johnson, Justin Henson, Jace (Jacci) Henson and James (Teresa) Raske, and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 5 brothers and 5 sisters.
