Funeral Services for Bertha Donahue, 96, of Sarasota, FL, formerly of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00 AM Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Friday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 6:30PM. Mrs. Donahue died Tuesday, April 17, 2007 in Punta Gorda, FL. Memorials may be made for Masses. Bertha DeCapp was born March 25, 1911 in East Moline the daughter of Henry and Zelma (DeBraybander). She married Harold "Tittles" Donahue July 21, 1934. He died May 9, 1973. Bertha and her husband were former owners of the Crystal Bar (which they built), Hampton, the Towne House, Silvis, the Brown Owl, East Moline and the Mississippi Mobile Home Park. Bertha had been a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline and the Lucky Nine. She moved to Sarasota in 1992. Survivors include: daughters and sons-in-law, Harriet "Kiki" and Jim George of East Moline, Kathleen and Dr. Burwell Jones of Sarasota; 14 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; sister, Louise DeCapp of Sarasota; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, a grandson, 4 sisters, and a brother.
