Funeral services for Bertha "Tootie" Reed, 80, of Silvis, IL, will be 11:30 AM Saturday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Burial will be in Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:30AM Saturday morning at the funeral home. Mrs. Reed died Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at her home. Memorials may be made to the family. Tootie was born April 13, 1929 in Milan, IL, the daughter of Melvin and Ollidean Cooney Murphy. She married Donald Dickey in 1946. He died in 1956. She later married Don Williams and later Richard Reed. She retired from the former Container Corporation of America in 1991, after 25 years of service. She had been a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved it when her grandchildren and great-grandchildren came to visit her. Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, Don and Rita Dickey of Silvis, Michael Williams of Rock Island, IL; grandchildren, Kevin Dickey, Dawn (Doug) Crampton, Zack Williams, Tony Williams, Mark Williams, Rabekah Winklespecht; great-grandchildren, Lorna, Alex, Aaron, and Jaida; special friend, Pat Schaubroeck.
