Funeral services for Bessie P. Cowser, 97, of Charlotte, NC, formerly of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00AM Saturday, at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Saturday. Bessie Hurbis was born January 14, 1914 in Cedar Rapids, IA, the daughter of Francis and Joseph Hurbis. The family moved to East Moline in 1916 and she lived there until she came to live with her daughter, Sharon in Charlotte, NC in January of 1999 after her husband's death. She had worked at John Deere until she married Charles Cowser, then became a homemaker, secretary and bookkeeper for her husband's business Cowser's Tiling & Trenching. She was a member of Homewood Evangelical Church, Moline, IL and Faith Walk World Outreach Church, Silvis, IL. She leaves her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Allen Stoneburner; stepson, Ronald and Mary Cowser; grandchildren, Mike and Cindy Stoneburner, Sherri Gordon; great granddaughters Nicole and Stephanie Gordon of Windsor, Co; great grandson, Devin Clark of Charlotte. She was preceded in death buy her parents, husband Charlie Cowser, sister, Agnes, brother, Frank.
