Funeral services for Bessy Mack, 92, of Rock Island, IL, and Coal Valley, IL, will be 11:00AM Thursday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Burial will be in St. Joe Cemetery, Matherville, IL. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to services at the funeral home on Thursday. Mrs. Mack passed away peacefully on September 8, 2013 at Heartland Health Care, Moline, IL. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Bessy Teros was born December 10, 1920 in East Moline, the daughter of William and Eftihia Sacopoulos Teros. She was a graduate of United Township High School, East Moline. She married William M. Mack May 19, 1951 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rock Island. They raised their three children, Teresa, Toni, and Bernie in Rock Island. While raising her children, Bessy cared for her ailing mother until her death. Later she would become a caregiver for her sister, Bertha until her death. Bessy then went to work as a clerk at the Rock Island Arsenal, retiring in 1982, after 10 years of service. She enjoyed sports, especially bowling and golfing. She was a wonderful homemaker who loved her family dearly. Survivors include her daughter, Teresa Mack, Pinole, CA; son, Bernie (Amy) Mack. Moline; granddaughters, Elena (Corbin) Ayers, Renae (Cole) Schmidt, and Hannah Mack; grandson, Michael Mack; and 4 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 47 years, Bill, her beloved daughter, Antionette (Toni), sisters, Jenny, Elizabeth, Ellen, Angeline, and Bertha, and brother, Gus.
