Betty Clark, 97, of East Moline, died Friday, Jan. 30, 2026, at New Perspective in Silvis. Funeral services will be 10:30 am on Friday, February 6, 2026, at Calvary Lutheran Church, Moline. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Visitation will be 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Memorials may be made to Calvary Lutheran Church, Moline, where she was a member, or any of the organizations she been a member. She had been a member of the former Immanuel Lutheran Church, East Moline for 60 years.
Betty E. Clark was born March 9, 1928, in Kewanee, Ill., the daughter of Ernest and Marie (Pierson) Bjornson. She married Willaim Buckley and Mike VanAcker. She later married Walter Clark, Dec. 17, 1955, in Kewanee, Ill.
Betty was the Chief Deputy of the Rock Island County Clerk’s office for 23 years and served in various Township and County capacities.
She was a member and past president of every school her children attended and was a life member of the PTA. She served as a member and Board President of East Moline Public Library and the Rock River Library District.
Betty was a member of the Scandinavian American Club, Augustana College Endowment Society, Rock Island Historical Society, and the Hampton Historical Society.
Survivors include children and their spouses, William and Beverly Buckley, Moline, BJ Sanders, Moline, Carl and Sandy Clark, Bettendorf Iowa, Greg Clark, East Moline, Pastor Mike and Karen Clark, Geneseo, Liz and Jerry Glogowski, Walcott, Iowa. Also 21grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 24 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2004 and a son, David VanAcker.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the many caregivers both at home and New Perspective, Silvis, with special thanks and appreciation to her special caregiver, Marti Kernan.
