Betty Lou Daggett, 78, of East Moline, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at Celebrate Senior Living, Moline, with her granddaughters by her side.
Funeral service will be 2:00 pm on Friday, May 1, 2026, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm and from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Inurnment will be at Greenview Memorial Garden, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the National Scoliosis Foundation or to the family in care of Kara Tristan or Brian Daggett.
Betty was born on March 14, 1948, in Moline, the daughter of Edward and Mary E. (McReynolds) VanDeVelde. She was married 59 years to Robert “Bob” Daggett, prior to his passing in 2025. They were married on July 2, 1966, at Edgewood Baptist Church, Rock Island. Betty had worked as a supervisor at Sears Roebuck. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, crafts, and going out for salon days. Her late husband, Bob and her frequented many car shows together and loved to travel. Betty was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, and always watched their games with her grandson, Keaton. She was the Matriarch of her family and always put others before herself, lending a helping hand to everybody she could. Betty will be greatly missed by her friends and family.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Kara (John) Tristan, Colona; son, Brian (Sarah) Daggett, Silvis; grandchildren, Keaton Herman, Katie (Ian) Danley, and Alie Daggett; great grandchildren, Sydney and Benjamin Danley; brother, Larry Leidig; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Daggett; parents; sisters, Carol Southerland and Barbara (Terry) Cox; and sister-in-law, Shirley Leidig.
