Betty A. Dreher-Hardesty, 88, Moline, passed away on Friday, May 4, 2018 at Aspen, Silvis. Funeral services are 11 AM Wednesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 4-7 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Animal Aid Humane Society, Moline. Betty Moody was born April 8, 1930 in Moline, the youngest of 10 children, born to Charles and Loretta (Allen) Moody. She worked as a nurse at the former Lutheran Hospital, Moline. She married LaVerne Hardesty Sr. in the 1980's, and he preceded her in death. Betty loved her family and cherished time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Betty also had a place in her heart for animals. Survivors include her children, Eleanor Schmiers, MS, and Robert (Denise) Dreher, Silvis; eighteen grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren: daughter-in-law, Linda Schmiers, East Moline. She was preceded in death by her parents, children, Jack (Sharon), June, George, Sandra and James Schmiers, step-son, LaVerne Hardesty Jr., and ten brothers and sisters.
