Funeral services for Betty L. Lerschen, 85, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00 AM Saturday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd, East Moline. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation will be 4:00-6:00 pm Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Lerschen died Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at her son's home in Viola, IL. Betty Chalder was born September 24, 1930, in Dubuque, IA, the daughter of Frank and Ethel Burke Chalder. She married Clarence Lerschen May 12, 1951, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Moline. He died March 3, 2003. Betty had been the housecleaner at St. Mary's Catholic Church in East Moline for 25 years. She was a loving an devoted mother who took care of her 3 special needs children her whole life. Survivors include her daughter, Carol Lerschen, East Moline; sons, John (Jeanne) Lerschen, Viola, Harold Lerschen, Moline, Larry Lerschen, and Tom Lerschen, both of East Moline; grandchildren, Steve (Deanna), Kris, Audrey, Nicky, and Sean; great grandchildren, Keegen, Kaylee, Alex, Jacob, Jared, and Chase; sisters, Rita Lerschen, East Moline, and Joann Lopez, Moline. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Robert and James Chalder; infant brother, William. Memorials may be made to the family.
