Betty M. Mercy, 92, East Moline, passed away at peace, on Monday, January 4, 2016 at her home, with her family by her side. Funeral services are 12:00 Noon Thursday at Union Congregational United Church of Christ, Moline. Visitation is from 10:00 AM until service time. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the church, where she was a member. Betty Terry was born August 7, 1923. She married Victor R. Mercy on April 11, 1942 in Kahoka, MO. She had worked at various companies, including International Farmall during WWII. She enjoyed swimming at the YMCA, doing ceramics and was a very good cook. Survivors include her husband of nearly 74 years, Victor, son, Timothy (Mary Ellyn) Mercy, Downers Grove, IL, six grandchildren, a great-grandson and sisters, Beatrice, Beverly and Donna. She was preceded in death by her son Terry, sisters, Barbara and Shirley and brothers, Earl and Jr. Thanks to all the wonderful people who helped Betty through her medical struggles, including the dialysis team, and Mary Russell and Jim Smith, her wonderful neighbors and friends.
