Obituary

Funeral services for Betty J. Schultz, 95, formerly of Silvis, IL, will be 11:30 AM Friday, October 18, 2024, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:00-11:00 AM Friday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Mrs. Schultz passed away Friday, October 11, 2024, at Genesis, Silvis.

Betty Hart was born June 1, 1929, in Rock Island, IL, the daughter of Emerson and Matilda Marlier Hart. She married LeRoy "Roy" Schultz, November 15, 1947, at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Roy passed away December 18, 2019. Betty was a hairdresser, she also worked for many years at George O. Barr Elementary School, Silvis.

She enjoyed playing cards, bingo and dancing.

She had been a member of the Ladies Group at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Illini Auxiliary, and the East Moline American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include her daughter, Gail (Dan) Turf, East Moline; son, Bruce (Connie) Schultz, East Moline; daughter-in-law, Denise Schultz, West Des Moines, IA; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant daughter, Linda Schultz; son Dennis Schultz; and brothers, Bob and Earl Hart.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
