Betty A. Van Tine, 84, East Moline, passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2014 at Rosewood Care Center, Moline. Funeral services are 10 AM Thursday at Homewood Evangelical Free Church, Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 4-7 PM Wednesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd.,East Moline. Memorials may be made to the family. Betty Pyles was born on November 20, 1929 in Warsaw, IL, the daughter of Alva and Hattie (Goodrich) Pyles. She was a devoted member of Homewood Church, volunteering, and participating in many activities and attending bible studies. She was a skilled seamstress and loved doing craft work. She also enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles and had an incredible green thumb. Betty had worked as a CNA at the former Oak Glen Home, Coal Valley. Survivors include her son David (Sandra) Ruffcorn, East Moline, six grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and siblings, Phillip Pyles, Warsaw, IL, Dorothy Johnson, Peoria, IL, Charlie Pyles, Lubbock Texas, and Margaret Borduay, San Diego, CA. She was preceded in death by her daughter Marcia Morgan and siblings, Ronald Pyles, Lillian Lauck, Jerry Pyles and Norma Jennings.
